What is Office 365, and how will it help me?
Office 365 (or, O365 ) is a set of rich communication and collaboration tools that will engage students and teachers in 21st century digital learning. It offers teachers and students the following:
- Student/teacher email accounts (50 GB)* A personal Calendar and contacts;
- Cloud Storage (1TB OneDrive);
- Microsoft Web Apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);and
- Teacher/Student Blogs.
Because O365 is cloud-based, these tools can be accessed anywhere, any time, from any internet-capable device
Accessing Office 365 at Work and Home
At School
When a school, students can access Office 365 by:
- Launch explorer. Go to the Board's website.
- Click the "Parent/Student Corner" button and then the 0ffice 365 button under "Student Information" OR click the blue Microsoft Office 365 button below.
- You will be taken to the Office 365 Login Portal. Sign into O365 with the following:
- studentID@students.dcdsb.ca (eg.
smithj@students.dcdsb.ca) AND
- your password (ie. the one you use
on school computers)
At Home
When at home, students can access Office 365 by:
- Go to the Office 365 Login Portal: www1.dcdsb.ca/office365/ OR click the blue Microsoft Office 365 button below.
- Sign in with your account information (studentID@students.dcdsb.ca) AND your password (ie. the one your use
on school computers)
- You may be taken to a Windows Security screen. If so, type in the login and password that you use on school
computer (eg. smithj, followed by your password).
